I know I haven’t been on this blog (nor my personal one in a while), but I confess it can be trying for me to edit work, get prepared for the Spaded Truths relaunch, and deal with other background things at the same. The motto I’m adapting is whatever energy’s dominant at the time, to roll with it, and not try to force them to live in the same house. Also, to put together some sort of schedule where I’m devoting a set amount of time to do certain things, so that way it won’t start to feel overwhelming.
In my last post, I wanted to give you a glimpse of why you should check out Eclectic. I spoke of versatility as it pertains to the types of writing. In this post, I want to reveal another reason why Eclectic is worth a look.
Talking Point Two: It takes a glimpse into certain scenarios that other people can relate to. One example is pursuing someone “who’s just not that into you”.
Scenario: Imagine there is this person you are really liking, yet she’s not giving you the time of day. How do you handle the situation? How many times do you go through the rejection? Do you keep going, or do you reach a stopping point?
One of the pieces that addresses this is When Hard to Get Goes Wrong, where a guy pursues who he feels is his version of happiness. Here’s a small snippet of the poem:
When Hard to Get Goes Wrong
It felt like a typical day.
Man with the deepest chestnut eyes
Just happened to stroll my way.
He stopped in front of the cold grey steps,
Inquired, “This where you stay?”
“Sorry,” I fired back, “You’ve got the wrong house.”
He quickly shuffled away.
