Harrowing (Poetry Freestyle)

Hand over your paper.
Deposit your pen.
There are some things in front of my eyes
That should be dubbed a written sin.
Toss out your typewriter.
Turn in the correction tape.
I would have told them to stop the presses
Before subjecting masses to this fate.
Delete your Open Office
Or Microsoft Word.
To continue on this pathway
Is nothing short of absurd!
You think you are currently greater
Than any of the classics on earth.
You behave as if you’re the chosen one–
That it was ordained at birth.
I’m not saying that you have no right
To shine with confidence,
But not when ideas to improve your craft
Get met with indecision and defense.
Before this whole situation
Becomes nasty and even more dire,
Do yourself and everyone else a favor:
Strive to improve, or kindly retire.
