Wounds (Poetry Freestyle)

He wears the wounds that go unseen:
A nick here and a deep gash there.
He never had to worry about the stares.
After a while he just didn’t care.
It’s too bad others were obtuse:
Maybe they just didn’t realize
Because they were so concerned with the external,
They forgot to treat the wounds inside.
